Approximately 2 weeks ago, news of Jim Estill’s pledge to fund 50 Syrian families move to Guelph broke. Since then, the community has come together with an overwhelming show of support with people volunteering toys, clothes, food and more.
When we heard of Mr. Estill’s generosity, we were motivated to find a way to lend a helping hand. With the help of Rob O’Flanagan of the Guelph Mercury and Jim Estill, we were able to contact the correct people and are excited to be offering dental care to these newcomers to Guelph. Both emergency dental care and routine care (cleanings, fillings, etc) will be offered to theses families free of charge. We are grateful to be in a position to help ease the transition of these families to our welcoming city.
This Guelph Mercury article details the great response of our community and our involvement: http://www.guelphmercury.com/news-story/6162014-guelph-s-syrian-refugee-response-gets-organized/
