What to Expect From Your Invisalign Journey
A week-by-week look at how clear aligners gently transform your smile.

Clear aligners have made straightening your smile far more comfortable than the metal-mouth days. Here's what a typical Invisalign journey looks like from consult to final reveal.
The first appointment
We start with a digital 3D scan of your teeth — no putty, no gagging. That scan is used to design a step-by-step movement plan you can actually see before you commit.
Weeks 1–4: getting used to your trays
- Wear each set of aligners 20–22 hours per day.
- Expect a mild pressure sensation for the first two days of every new tray — that's the aligner doing its job.
- Remove only for eating, drinking anything but water, and brushing.

The middle stretch
By month three or four, most patients start seeing visible changes in the mirror. We book short check-ins every 6–8 weeks to confirm your teeth are tracking with the plan and hand over the next batch of trays.
“The people who finish fastest are the ones who wear their aligners consistently — not the ones with the shortest plans.”
— Dr. Sherief
Refinements and retainers
At the end of the plan we polish results with a short set of refinement aligners, then move you into a nighttime retainer. Retainers are for life — a few minutes each night keeps the results you worked for.
